Landscape architect Elma Fenton is introducing first ecologically-sound pool to Chelsea Garden Show

IT'S always much livelier at the Chelsea Flower Show if there's an Irish garden on display, even if hullabaloo better describes some of the shenanigans surrounding 'The Irish Garden' at last May's event, which included Dublin-born designer and BBC TV presenter, Diarmuid Gavin, having a very public spat with his Chelsea neighbour, Bunny Guinness, over the height of a partition wall. Of course, the media had a field day, with banner headlines in the broadsheets shouting "It's secateurs at dawn".

So I'm happy to report that the proposal of Kildare-based company Ellen Landscape Designs has been selected as one of the main entrants in the Show Gardens category for 2005.

Things are P2 Diarmuid's win was grand... next. previous.
